Identification note: catalogue card has "The plate is engraved - To Joseph Gandy Esq Architect and ARA who has manifested great taste and Science in his architectural drawings and designs. J Britton" on the back. Joseph Michael Gandy is the great-great-great grandfather of Virginia Novarra, the volunteer who computerised the whole of the catalogue of the Museum's Wiltshire topographical collection of paintings, prints and drawings, creating over 6400 individual computer entries, and who also created and computerised a biographical index of all the artists represented in the Museum's Art Collection. Print number 1983.3372 was presented to Ms Novarra by the Society, in December 2004, in recognition of her work as a volunteer with the Art Collection in the years 1997-2004.
