Description

Summary: 1 body sherd of Fengate ware in a coarse fabric with sparse white inclusions up to 3mm in length, with a rough mid brown interior and a grey/brown exterior, decorated with haphazard finger nail impressions, found in layer 8-9 in the south east chamber, from West Kennet Long Barrow, Avebury, Wiltshire, excavated by Professor Stuart Piggott and his staff and students at the Department of Prehistoric Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh, 1955-56.1
