Description

Summary: Fragment of a Roman dodecahedron found near Devizes, c. 100 - 300 AD. Not many dodecahedrons are known from Britain. The function of these objects remains uncertain, perhaps a surveying instrument, candleholder, sceptrehead or polygonal dice. Found with the use of a metal detector.
