Description

Identification note: Classified as Type 1.3 (gouges) in Smith

Summary: 19 pieces of bone worked to form gouges, with a hole bored down the bone lengthwise and with rivet holes through both surfaces of the bone at the butt end, one has incised decoration, from the Iron Age period, from All Cannings Cross Farm, All Cannings, Wiltshire. Excavated by Mr B H Cunnington and Mrs M E Cunnington, 1911-22.
