Description

Summary: 1 Early Saxon iron rod, rectangular in cross-section, both ends broken off, 1 with the beginning of a bend / hook, other end has fragments of twill fabric adhering to it, found in association with the ivory purse ring, from the pagan Saxon cemetery called 'Black Patch' at Blacknall Field, Pewsey, Wiltshire, excavated by Ken Annable and the Wiltshire Archaeological and Natural History Society, 1969-1976.
