ONLINE TALK: A Wealth of Knowledge: A decade of archaeological research, unlocked

by Wil Partridge, who worked on the project for over two years.

Wiltshire Museum has recently completed its Arts Council funded A Wealth of Knowledge project.

The project, which included a review of all archaeological research undertaken or published concerning the collections between 2010 and mid-2022, has provided us with detailed information on how our collections are being used, and by whom, as well as an array of exciting archaeological results.  In addition to improving our displays, we have been able to highlight priorities for future research, identified avenues to promote our collections as a resource, and identified weaknesses that can inform future collection strategies.

Wil was previously Finds Liaison Officer for the Portable Antiquities Scheme in a number of counties in the South West of England.  He is a Post-Graduate research student at the University of Exeter focussing on Late Romano-British metal tablewares, and is currently working for Wessex Archaeology.  For two and a half years between 2020 and 2022 Wil worked for the Museum as Research Officer.
